Iodine Software, known for its healthcare-focused AI solutions, has rolled out an update to its AwareUM software that now allows healthcare providers to integrate third-party physician advisors into their utilization management workflows. Previously, the software mainly supported in-house physician advisors, but this new functionality broadens its scope.
AwareUM uses AI to streamline utilization management processes, helping to ensure that patients are in the appropriate care status, boosting team efficiency, and reducing the chances of claim denials later on. The update means that healthcare systems using external physician advisors can now use AwareUM without any disruption to their existing workflows. This is expected to make utilization reviews smoother and enhance communication and collaboration between health systems and the physician advisor firms they work with.
William Chan, CEO and co-founder of Iodine Software, highlighted the importance of this new feature, noting that it offers health systems more flexibility, whether their physician advisors are in-house, outsourced, or a mix of both. “This update shows how we’re continuing to listen to our clients’ needs and finding ways to help them get the most out of our technology,” he said.
Iodine’s Aware Suite, which includes both AwareCDI and AwareUM, is aimed at addressing challenges in the mid-revenue cycle by capturing accurate documentation, improving workflows, and supporting financial integrity. The latest update is a step toward making these processes even more seamless for healthcare providers, regardless of their setup.
