Kaiser Permanente and CommonSpirit Health are strengthening their relationship with a new long-term agreement that aims to expand healthcare options for Kaiser Permanente members in Colorado. The partnership will give members greater access to hospitals and medical providers across the Denver metro area, making it easier to receive care closer to home.
Starting in 2025, Kaiser Permanente will integrate its doctors and staff into several CommonSpirit hospitals, including St. Anthony Hospital, St. Anthony North Hospital, and OrthoColorado Hospital. This means Kaiser Permanente members will be able to use these hospitals for inpatient and emergency services, giving them more options and convenience.
Both Kaiser Permanente and CommonSpirit have a long history of serving Colorado. Kaiser Permanente has been providing care in the state for over 50 years, while CommonSpirit operates 20 hospitals and hundreds of care sites. This collaboration is expected to improve care coordination and offer more access to specialty services, like orthopedics and cancer care.
“We’ve been part of the Colorado community for decades, and this partnership allows us to expand access to quality care even further,” said Mike Ramseier, regional president of Kaiser Permanente. “By working together, we can meet the needs of our members with high-quality, affordable healthcare.”
CommonSpirit Health’s Andrew Gaasch, president of its Mountain Region, highlighted the importance of making healthcare more convenient for patients. “We know how important it is for people to get the care they need close to home, and this partnership will help make that possible for Kaiser Permanente members” he said.
In Southern Colorado, Kaiser Permanente members already have access to CommonSpirit’s hospitals in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Cañon City. With this new agreement, members in the Denver area will soon benefit from the same level of integration.
Kaiser Permanente is also investing in new medical offices and updating existing facilities across Colorado, aiming to provide more accessible and modern care for its members.
